Laurence is, without doubt the most famous television face in Interior Design. Without his unique air and flamboyance, the television makeover simply wouldn’t exist. Ever since launching the BBC’s Changing Rooms in 1995, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has become the ‘go-to’ presenter for home style TV concepts in the UK and now, Asia. His ability to inspire and energize viewers is legendary and has helped make him not only one of TV’s favorite faces but an Interior Design business mogul with a hugely exciting and lucrative international business portfolio.
Erudite, incredibly well read and a classically trained Fine Artist, it’s Laurence’s razor-sharp wit and infectious humor that has kept him very much top of the presenting game for 20 years.
Although era-defining shows like Changing Rooms, Homefront, Fantasy Rooms, and Housegift have all created a considerable international profile for him, it’s Laurence’s role as Head Judge and Style Arbiter on The Apartment that has really set the world alight. With all the off-the-cuff authority of Simon Cowell and the committed passion of Gordon Ramsey, Laurence continues to thrill Asia (and lately South America, India, The Middle East, and Japan) with his surgically-sharp judgements on the taste, style and efforts of The Apartment’s breathless contestants. It’s classic television!
Laurence lives in considerable style in a beautiful manor house built in the 1580s in the midst of the ravishing Cotswold countryside, together with his wife of 26 years Jackie and their two exquisite daughters.
Laurence is the returning principal judge on Season 6 of The Apartment.
